At Jim’s, we want to make your jumping castle and party hire experience as easy as possible. We’ve put together some of our most frequently asked questions below
If you prefer to have a more in depth chat with your local Jim’s operator, you can contact our call centre on 131 546, from 8am-8pm, 7 days a week or send an enquiry.
Our standard jumping hours hiring times are:
- Morning session from 9am to 1pm (recommended due to ideal weather conditions)
- Afternoon session from 2pm to 6pm
For all other times and overnight hire, prices can vary, so please contact us on 131 546 for a quote.
Overnight hire is possible, but extra safety measures must be taken as dew will often settle on the castle overnight.
To hire a jumping castle overnight, the following conditions must be met:
- The yard in which it is placed must be secured. (e.g. fenced)
- There cannot be any loose animals in the yard overnight
- The unit must be switched off once everyone has finished playing
- Customers must make sure there is sufficient light for safe bouncing
- We require a $200 bond to ensure the castle is as clean as when it was setup
We require a deposit with every booking confirmation. Normally, the amount is $100 which can be paid using a bank transfer or an over the phone credit card payment.
For special circumstances such as an overnight hire or a water castle hire, a $100-$200 bond is also required. Bonds can also be applied to other party hire equipment and prices will vary depending on the item.
To learn more about upfront costs, ask your local Jim’s Jumping Castle and Party Hire operator Sydney during your free quote.
We understand that sometimes that things don’t work out the way you planned, and that you need to cancel your booking. Please advise your local Jim’s business owner Melbourne as soon as possible of any cancellations.
For cancellations made more than two weeks ahead of time, your deposit will be refunded in full.
Your deposit may not be refunded if your booking is cancelled within two weeks of the agreed date.
If you need to change the date of your booking, please contact your local Jim’s operator as soon as possible. They will do their best to accommodate the change. You may need to pay an extra charge.
We may not be able to set up your jumping castle on the day of your booking if it turns out that your site doesn’t meet our site requirements.
To avoid such disappointment on the day of your booking, we advise asking your local Jim’s operator Melbourne to come over to check your site’s suitability beforehand.
To learn about our site requirements, they are outlined on our website under each item, as well as on your confirmation email.
Please ensure that you take measurements accurately and carefully as we will still charge the full hire amount if we have to cancel the hire for the following reasons:
- Inadequate access to the site or space
- Unsuitable surface
- The surface is not flat, for example sloped or uneven
- Inadequate overhead clearance
- The castle is unable to be tied down to the ground by pegs or weights
No, this isn’t usually necessary because we are confident that you’ll be able to supervise the jumping castle yourself once we’ve walked you through the safety procedures.
If you do require a staff member from Jim’s to be present, we are more than happy to help for an additional fee.
This generally depends on the size of the jumping castle you choose.
- For small castles, we require a 5 square metre space.
- Larger castles need 7 by 10 metres, and vehicle access within 10 metres to the jumping castle site.
- For larger castles where the site is more difficult to access, your local Jim’s operator may need to visit the site first. There may be an additional fee for this service.
- An access area with a 1.5 metre width is needed from our trailer to the site
- Please advise us if you have stairs or if the site is difficult to access.
It usually takes 20 to 40 minutes to complete a setup. Laying out the castle is the most time consuming part, and castles normally take a few minutes to inflate completely. Packing up properly takes time as we need to ensure that the castle has completely deflated.
Sites with difficult access can often take longer to setup and dismantle.
No, jumping castles can be set up on any reasonably flat surface. For surfaces made of concrete or pavers, pegs can’t be used so the castles will need to be weighted down another way. This may require an additional charge so please let your operator know what type of surface you’re working with at the time of your quote or booking.
Call Jim’s Group on 131 546 to speak to your local Jim’s Jumping Castles and Party Hire Melbourne operator. Our call centre is staffed 7 days a week, including some public holidays, from 8am to 8pm.
Otherwise, complete our online enquiry form and we’ll get back to you shortly.
Your local Jim’s operator will arrive approximately 1 hour before your event begins. You’ll need to provide them with access to the jumping castle site and a power supply to properly setup.
Once your party has finished, your Jim’s operator will return at an agreed time to collect the equipment and dismantle the castle. If you want to continue having fun with your jumping castle for a bit longer, we’ll let you know if a last minute booking extension is possible.
If your backyard can’t accommodate a jumping castle, consider switching your party to a different location. Here are some ideas:
- A friend’s backyard
- Local community centre
- Church
- School
- Public park
- Any indoor areas with high enough ceiling clearance
Jim’s jumping castles are amongst the safest in the industry.
Each castle is cleaned twice before each hire. Rest assured that our jumping castles are thoroughly inspected, cleaned and disinfected with an antibacterial solution before and after each use.
Our high quality castles are sourced from reputable manufacturers and each castle undergoes a regular inspection by our Regional Manager. We regularly replace any faulty or worn castles.
Yes, it is a requirement that a parent or responsible person over 18 years of age is present to supervise the jumping castle when it is in operation.
We always provide training in safe use and supervision of the jumping castle or hire equipment before your event starts.
For hires in a public place or corporate/commercial events, we will provide a trained supervisor.
You’ll need to provide written approval or permission from local government authority to your local Jim’s operator.
Be aware that some approvals come with conditions that your local Jim’s operator Melbourne must comply with for your booking to go ahead.
The local government authority may also charge you a small fee for the use of their park or facility. In some cases, they may even need to escort our jumping castle vehicle into the park.
We suggest contacting them as soon as possible to find out what is involved in using your local park or public space.
All Jim’s Group operators are required to be fully insured to protect themselves and their clients. We regularly audit our insurance policies and if an individual operator’s policy is changed or terminated, then Jim’s Group is notified immediately.
You can ask for a copy of the certificate of currency from your local operator.
Your Jim’s Jumping Castles and Party Hire operator is responsible for setting up the castle properly and ensuring it is safe and fit for use.
They will then provide safety instructions to your designated castle supervisor, who is responsible from that point onwards for ensuring that the castle is used safely during your party.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature doesn’t always provide the best weather for a Jumping Castle hire. There are times when adverse weather prevents a hire from going ahead.
When severe weather is forecast, the booking will need to be cancelled for safety reasons and a full refund is given in most instances. Your local Jim’s Jumping Castle Melbourne operator will usually advise you the day before the booking if your hire will need to be cancelled or rescheduled.
If you still wish to proceed with the hire, we are unable to provide a refund if the equipment does not end up being used.
Our castles are fitted with roofs to keep the sun off and will withstand light rain. However, weather events can sometimes be unpredictable.
When heavy rain or high winds (above 40km/hour) are forecast, we reserve the right to cancel the jumping castle hire.
Weather pattern trends show that wind speed picks up in the afternoon, so morning bookings can often go ahead before the wind picks up.
If the booking is ultimately cancelled due to poor weather conditions, you can always reschedule your booking. Our operators will do their best to accommodate your new booking.
A 240 volt (normal domestic type) power point should be available between 25-50 metres of the jumping castle.
The power point should be on its own circuit, and not paired with any other high amp drawing electrical devices.
If this is not available, the jumping castle hire will require a petrol blower or generator and there will be an additional cost.
For safety reasons, we must only use our own power cords. This is because we can only use power cords which are checked, tested and tagged regularly by Jim’s Jumping Castle & Party Hire.
If a cord becomes frayed or damaged during the hire, you must stop using it immediately and contact your local operator.
Yes, all bookings are subject to terms and conditions. Your local provider will provide you with a copy of these before your booking is confirmed.
Please read through the terms and conditions carefully and send a signed copy back to your local operator, who will then confirm your booking once they’ve received your deposit.
